Jefferson Einstein - Radiology Residency - Bowling 2024 03.14.24

Jefferson Einstein Radiology residents left the imaging and rolled out for some fun. They spared no expense as they....

.knocked down all they could. The group enjoyed a nice night of bowling to allow them reset their frames outside the work setting.

1. What was the general understanding of the purpose of the project/program by participation?
The purpose of this program was to help us focus on both individual wellness and team
dynamics.

2. Why did you choose the specific wellness project/activity?
Radiology residents spend many hours sitting at a workstation. We wanted to do something that
allowed us to stretch our bodies a little after work, and it worked out well.

3. During the project/program, what tangible tools or strategies were demonstrated or taught to
address wellness and life balance?
It was definitely a team sport to make it a reality. Since everyone was on a different schedule,
we first did a survey to find the best date possible so everyone could attend. For the activity
itself, it took place at a location that is conveniently located for everybody and we planned a
surprise birthday party for our 4th year resident Ward who is graduating in June. Many residents
volunteered to make it successful. For example, Lee did the research and found the place;
Pamela baked the cake, and Amanda ordered food and brought them in.

4. What do you intend to do, upon returning to work, that you learned and practiced during the
activity, that will improve your response to stressful situations?
We learned that having fun and making friends is still possible during residency. There are many
obstacles such as funding and scheduling stand in the way, so we need the right support to
make it happen.

5. What can POMA do to address wellness and life balance for your future?
We want to give a sincere THANK YOU to POMA for funding us. We left the activity with an
increased sense of camaraderie amongst the resident and an overall increase in wellness. We
hope that Resident Wellness Grant will continue to be available for all of us.
