The POMA Clinical Writing Contest is back and open! All Pennsylvania osteopathic medical students and interns/residents training in Pennsylvania are invited to submit their original research, literature reviews, or case reports. Download the flyer and help spread the word about this year's contest!

Submission Deadline: 

  • All submissions are due July 1, 2026. (Submission Period Closed)

Prizes:

  • 1st Prize: $1,000 and the Golden Quill Award
  • 2nd Prize: $750
  • 3rd Prize: $500
  • Honorable Mention: $250

Contest Rules and Regulations:

  • Contest open to all osteopathic students attending a Pennsylvania COM and all osteopathic interns/residents training in Pennsylvania, as well as residents of PA attending a COM or training in another state.

  • Eligible entries must be original research, literature reviews, or case reports.

  • Articles previously published in other journals are not eligible.

  • Recommended length of entries: 2,000 to 4,000 words (excluding charts, graphs, and references)

  • Residents must have their DME and/or residency program director sign off on their paper for appropriateness of submission. Students may have the Dean or his/her designee (including a mentor) sign off on their submission.

  • Each entrant must supply a photograph, CV or short biography with their entry.
