Journal of the POMA
POMA's Publications Committee is excited to announce that the JPOMA has been reimagined in a completely digital format!
The digital edition has some content areas similar to what has been done in the past, in addition to new offerings. We are looking for contributions in the following areas:
- Research (Posters, case presentations, and healthcare-related research articles.)
- Medical Vignettes: (100-word reflections on your osteopathic journey and what still resonates today)
- Business of Medicine (Experiences in practice management, career transitions, retirement planning, or life after retirement)
- Academia (Perspectives on undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate learning and experiences)
- Creative Writing (Art, poetry, music, short stories, and blog-style pieces)
- Book Reviews (Reviews of medically related books relevant to clinical practice, education, or professional development)
- Advocacy (Articles supporting the well-being, safety, and best interests of Pennsylvania's osteopathic physicians, patients, and communities)
The committee wants the JPOMA to be a safe space for all DOs to have a voice and be heard. Opportunities are open to all osteopathic medical students, residents and practicing physicians. Share your thoughts, ideas and submissions via email to [email protected].
Three issues will be produced annually - feel free to plan ahead or submit early!
- February issue - submission deadline January 15th
- June issue - submission deadline May 15th
- October issue - submission deadline September 15th
Submit contributions and questions to James Eirkson at: [email protected]
We look forward to hearing from you!
