Darlene Ann Dunay, D.O., FACOFP, is a board-certified family medicine physician with more than three decades of experience in primary care, operating a solo general practice in Old Forge, PA. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with High Honors from Penn State University and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, completing her internship, residency, and a preceptorship at Metropolitan Hospital-Parkview Division in Philadelphia. Dr. Dunay has a special interest in Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy and serves patients across the full spectrum of care, from pediatrics through geriatrics. She also serves as a school physician for the Old Forge and Pittston Area School Districts. Throughout her career, Dr. Dunay has held numerous medical director roles in home health, hospice, and palliative care, and has been an active leader in osteopathic medical education, including serving as President of the PCOM Alumni Board of Directors and Chairman of the Penn State Worthington Scranton Campus Advisory Board. Dr. Le is currently an internal medicine resident at UPMC Lititz and serves as the resident representative on the osteopathic curriculum committee. He helped design and implement the program’s ongoing osteopathic didactic and hands‑on sessions, bringing practical, learner-focused training to his colleagues. Previously, he was a predoctoral OMM fellowship at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona, where he was active in peer education and curriculum development. He plans to continue practicing the osteopathic philosophy of emphasizing the unity of body, mind and spirit, the body’s inherent ability to self‑heal, and the interrelationship of structure and function in promoting health. |

Reese Petrosky, OMS |
Reese Petrosky is a second-year medical student at Nasuti College of Osteopathic Medicine of Duquesne University (DUQ-NCOM) who currently serves as the DUQ-NCOM Student Government Association President. Reese graduated from the Penn State Schreyer Honors College in 2025 with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with Honors in Kinesiology. She hopes to eventually pursue a career as an Ob/Gyn to support women’s health education initiatives for adolescents and increase equity in healthcare for women with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Before being elected as SGA President, Reese served as the DUQ-NCOM SGA/COSGP Student Wellness and Mental Empowerment Directive Liaison where she started a student book club, weekly yoga sessions for COM students, and a mental health workshop series. As SGA President, Reese is excited to welcome DUQ-NCOM's third class of students and to foster a supportive environment for new students through additional mentorship and wellness initiatives. Reese is honored to serve as the current POMA Student Trustee and cares deeply about advocating for all Pennsylvania Osteopathic medical students. |

John Kaufman, DO |
Before joining Duquesne, Dr. Kauffman served as founding dean and chief academic officer of the Campbell University Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine in Buies Creek, N.C., from 2011 until he was named dean emeritus in October 2019. During his tenure at the Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Kauffman played an integral role in the school's launch and critical accreditation process. The Wallace School was the first medical school to open in North Carolina in 35 years and presently is the state's only osteopathic medical school. Prior to his role at Campbell University, Dr. Kauffman served in several capacities at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM). In 2006, he was named associate dean for postgraduate affairs and in 2010 was promoted to vice dean for postgraduate affairs of the Virginia and South Carolina campuses. Under his leadership at VCOM, the number of residency positions increased from 40 to 280 in family medicine, internal medicine, dermatology and neurosurgery. Dr. Kauffman also worked for University Hospitals of Cleveland from 2001-2006, during which he established University-based osteopathic residencies in dermatology and pediatrics as well as community-based residencies which included family medicine, internal medicine, and sports medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Osteopathic Internists. He has spent more than 20 years of his career in medical education, directing medical education at medical centers and medical schools both in urban and rural communities. He has participated in medical mission trips to nations in central America, South America, India and Africa. Dr. Kauffman holds numerous professional memberships and in 2014 was awarded the American Osteopathic Foundation's Educator of the Year award. He earned a bachelor's degree in biology/psychology at Allegheny College and his doctor of osteopathic medicine at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Silvia Ferretti, DO

Silvia M. Ferretti, D.O. is the Provost, Senior Vice President, and Dean of Academic Affairs at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) in Erie, Pennsylvania. When LECOM opened in 1993, Dr. Ferretti became the first woman dean of an osteopathic medical college. The college trustees promoted Dr. Ferretti to Provost as LECOM expanded to include a School of Pharmacy. Dr. Ferretti is a Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine/Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at LECOM. Currently, she is active in the Student Promotion and Graduation Committee, the Curriculum Committee, and the Osteopathic Graduate Medical Education Committee. Prior to joining LECOM, she was chief of rehabilitation at Great Lakes Rehabilitation Hospital in Erie and taught at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree. She completed her internship at the Hospital of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and subsequently, a residency in Physical Medicine Rehabilitation at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Ferretti is a past Chairperson of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s, Department of State, Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs, State Board of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Ferretti is a past Chairperson of the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine Board of Deans Executive Committee. She is also a member of and affiliated with, the AOA; the American Osteopathic College of Rehabilitation Medicine; the American Congress of Rehabilitation; the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation; and the Erie County Medical Society. Dr. Ferretti is also a delegate and a member of the board of trustees of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association. In addition, she has recently received two Ebony Excellence awards from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania for outstanding community service and academic/educational excellence. She is a recipient of the Distinguished Pennsylvanian Award from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania in recognition of her contributions to the community, as well as a Proclamation from former Governor Tom Ridge for dedication to personal, community, and professional excellence. She has also been awarded a citation from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for professional excellence and humanitarianism. She is an honored life member listed in Strathmore’s Who’s Who Millennium Edition. The American Osteopathic Association also inducted Dr. Ferretti into the AOA Mentors Hall of Fame an honor given to those physicians who teach osteopathic medical students, interns, and residents and guide them on their careers as physicians. |

Peter Bidey, DO |
Dr. Peter Bidey has served on the PCOM faculty since 2012. Since 2018, he has acted as vice chair (and previously, medical director) of the Department of Family Medicine, and most recently, as assistant dean of clinical curricular integration. He is a clerkship director and co-course director for myriad ambulatory, family medicine, and primary care skills courses. He is on staff at Main Line Health – Lankenau Medical Center. He previously served as an attending physician, as director of medical education and as program director of the PCOM/Suburban Community Hospital Family Medicine Residency at Suburban Community Hospital in Norristown.
Dr. Bidey has been recognized for his dedicated work both as a teacher and clinician. His honors include Outstanding Advisor of the Year (PCOM; received three times), Osteopathic Family Medicine Educator of the Year (ACOFP), the Frederick J. Solomon, DO FACGP Award for Merit (POFPS), and Case Writer of the Year (NBOME), among others. Dr. Bidey holds a bachelor's degree from Duquesne University, a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from PCOM, and a master of science in education degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
