POMA Committee on Postgraduate Outreach and Engagement

POMA's Postgraduate Outreach and Engagement Committee is charged to effectively engage osteopathic residents and fellows training in Pennsylvania, as well as postgraduate training program administration and faculty members in the Commonwealth.  This work is accomplished by providing information, resources and support for residents in training and their program administrators.

After an ice-breaking/leadership activity (“resident BINGO”) and an opportunity to meet attendees, the year’s first meeting of the Professional Guidance/Young Professionals – West Region was called to order. Residents discussed topics they would like included in upcoming forums, including: Direct Primary Care, Leadership in Medicine, Tie Management/Organization, Interpersonal Relationships, Functional Integrative Medical Fields, ACGME Impact.

Residents were encouraged to access information through the POMA website, in particular, information and application for POMAF scholarships and the MHTF Wellness Grant.

PGYP Central Region September 2018

The Central Region of the Professional Guidance Committee held its first meeting with ten enthusiastic residents and interns on September 18, 2018, in Harrisburg.  After a spirited game of PGYP Bingo to introduce everyone, the residents and interns had an opportunity to voice their concerns about issues that affect them at their level of training and beyond.  Members and staff of POMA offered solutions and are working on the next steps to address these concerns.
