Passing of Seven Bills Providing Stronger Protections for Crime and Domestic Violence Victims; Four Members of Governor Wolf's Cabinet Receive Confirmations

The State Senate unanimously passed seven bills providing stronger protections for crime victims and those individuals facing domestic violence. One measure goes to the Governor and the other six move to the House of Representatives for consideration. The House of Representative returns to session on April 9.

Four members of Governor Wolf’s cabinet received their confirmations this week in the State Senate. Department of Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine, Department of Human Services Secretary Teresa Miller, Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs Secretary Jennifer Smith, and Insurance Commissioner Jessica Altman.

The State Senate is in session again next week. The previously cancelled Appropriations Committee hearing on the Department of Health and Human Services is on tap for Wednesday.
